Recipe creations from plants for the home cook (and the never-cooked-in-my-life reader)? That’s Lisa’s niche and she loves sharing her knowledge, skills, and personal adventures in the kitchen with readers! Lisa has been writing and studying the art of cooking for over 30 years. She attended pasta-making classes in Italy, completed the intensive Forks Over Knives plant-based cooking course, and completed her Vegan Chef Certification with the Vegan Gastronomy Culinary Academy, the world’s leading vegan cooking school and training services company. She loves having friends over for dinner, or better, going to a friend’s house, and impromptu cooking a meal with what is available in their pantry and fridge. How much fun could that possibly be? TONS!
Lisa’s 2021 cookbook, Food ELEVATED, 100 Recipes for Colorful Cooking from the Colorado Front Range, received a Gold Medal Award from the Colorado Independent Book Publishers Association competition in August of 2022.
As a professionally trained speaker, Lisa’s presentations focus on Eating Well and Living Well. Over the years, she has been featured in The Coloradoan, Advance Magazine, Medical Office Today, Mainstreet, The Ladders, and ICU Medicine and has written for regional magazines about life in Northern Colorado and of course, food! She was also a speaker finalist for the 2024 Vegan Women Summit in Hollywood!
For those who need a bit more on the corporate side, Lisa has over 40 years of experience in healthcare (OMG that’s a lot!) including disease prevention and management, performance improvement, and leadership development, and a Master’s Degree in Organizational Management. Lisa loves leveraging this varied experience to help bridge the world of health and the expansive culinary world of a plant-based lifestyle and level the cooking approach so all can enjoy the fruits of the Earth.
Do you have to want to be a full-on vegan to be with Lisa? Absolutely not! 😊 Her motto? Let’s just eat more plants!
