Celebrating Life at Any Age!Lisa Boesen apron herbs IYSL

Lisa is a Fort Collins, Colorado-based professional speaker, award-winning author, Certified Vegan Chef, and beekeeper. She enjoys writing about nature’s abundance, the cycles of life, nature, natural moments, and the importance of Being in Awe.

Lisa has been writing since the age of 12 and studying the art of cooking for over 30 years. She attended pasta-making classes in Italy, completed the intensive Forks Over Knives plant-based cooking course, and is a Certified Vegan Chef from the Vegan Gastronomy Culinary Academy. When not surfing the farmers’ markets for the most seasonal produce, she enjoys researching the science of cooking and presentation for the home cook. She admits she is still learning!

Weaving musings about beekeeping and fun anecdotes about moving into a plant-based lifestyle, Lisa presents workshops, breakouts, and keynotes about health, self-care, and simple living at conferences and retreats for healthcare, senior, and women’s groups.  Recipe “sorcery” and designing plants-first food tastings paired with a few travel bites awaken the Kitchen Creator in Lisa. Her greatest joy now is when a friend or student emails her that they made their first full plant-based meal! How cool is that?

For those who need a bit more on the corporate side, Lisa has over 40 years of experience in healthcare (OMG that’s a lot!) acute care, health prevention management, Human Resources, and Performance Improvement. She holds a Master’s Degree in Organizational Management is a Certified Master Coach and Certified Vegan Chef. She has been featured in The Coloradoan, Advance Magazine, Medical Office Today, Mainstreet, The Ladders, and ICU Medicine and writes for regional magazines about life in Northern Colorado and of course, food!

Her 2021 cookbook, Food ELEVATED, 100 Recipes for Colorful Cooking from the Colorado Front Range, received a gold medal award from the Colorado Independent Book Publishers Association competition in August of 2022.  She is most grateful and humbled to be recognized amid many authors crafting their writing and cooking skills!

Do you have to want to be full-on vegan to be with Lisa? Absolutely not. Her motto? Let’s just eat more veg!
